General Awareness: This section compiles three different sub-sections which are current affairs, banking & financial affairs and static awareness.

Current Affairs:

It includes topics such as important bank news, economic affairs, national and international news, recent state affairs, agreements, visits, awards and honors, summits & conferences and obituaries.

Banking & Financial Awareness:

This topic consists of financial news, Banking Abbreviations, the Banking Regulation Act 1949, About & Functions of RBI Policy Rates, Types of Accounts, Negotiable instruments act 1881, Money market instruments, priority sector lending, financial inclusion, Money market instruments, Banking Ombudsman scheme 2006 & more.

Static Awareness:

It includes topics like International Organisations, Important Days, Capital & Currency, Agreement & Deals, Books & Authors, Honours & Awards, National & International Appointments, Famous Obituaries, etc.

Note: -

Computer Aptitude: With the change in the pattern of the exams Computer awareness has been removed with Computer Aptitude, in this section questions will be asked from Binary Conversions & flowchart-based.

Professional Knowledge: Professional Knowledge syllabus is derived into different sections as per the posts such as IT Officer, HR Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Marketing Officer, Finance Officer, Law Officer, Agriculture Officer, etc.

Bank Exam Pattern 2021

Bank PO Exam Pattern

There are two stages on online objective test one is prelims & the other is mains. Prelims are usually consisting of three subjects English Language, Reasoning Ability & Quantitative Aptitude whereas in mains general awareness is added and the previous subjects are expanded with more topics.

Bank Clerk Exam Pattern

The bank Clerk exam pattern is similar to the PO. The only difference caused by this is the level of difficulty of questions. In clerk, questions are not that difficult as asked in PO.

Bank SO Exam Pattern

SO online objective test consists of 4 sections - Reasoning Ability, English Language, General Awareness & Professional Knowledge.

Selection Procedure

Probationary Officer (PO)

Usually, Under the Probationary Officer post, the selection is based on 3 major factors:

  • Prelims
  • Mains
  • Interview

Clerk

Whereas in the Clerical the selection is based on

  • Prelims
  • Mains
  • Language Proficiency Test.

Specialist Officer (SO)

In this category, the selection is based only on 2 factors i.e the

  • Online Test
  • Interview.

The allotment is based on the scores obtain in the online objective test as well as the interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted.

Top Opportunities in Banking

Bank PO (Probationary Officer): PO is a managerial Position where one has to do multiple tasks in addition to the administrative work. Eligibility Criteria for age is 21-30 years. The Bank PO salary range from Rs. 23,700 - Rs. 42,020 per month.

Bank Clerk: Clerical position is one of the admired jobs by the students to enter the banking sector. The minimum age required 20-28 Years. The salary range is Rs. 11765 – Rs. 19589 per month.

Bank SO (Specialist Officer): Aspirants having higher eligibility are also hired for specialist profiles like – IT Officer, HR Officer, Marketing Officer, Finance Officer, Law Officer, Agriculture Officer, etc.

The banking sector is assumed to be one of the fastest-growing sectors among all other economies. Also, the banking sector is the salvation of the Indian Economy. This gives an idea of an economy to open more bank branches to make our economy more digitalize. IBPS every year releases IBPS calendar to conducts exams in order to hire students for various banks in different fields. Also, there are some banks that conduct their own exam for recruitment of the same posts with similar eligibility, job profile, etc. for eg. SBI, RBI, RRB, etc.
